Born from passion, built on pride

I have always been in love with cigars, as my father was too. My main business is in the spirits industry — but I noticed that 60% of the top 100 best cigars in the world have one or two components from Ecuador, usually the binder or the wrapper: the ones that require the best quality tobacco.

I realised that Ecuador, despite producing some of the finest tobacco leaves in the world, has no Ecuadorean international brand in the market. So I decided to do something about it.

As a proud Ecuadorean, I launched Javier Olavarria Cigars — the first line of cigars made 100% with Ecuadorean leaves in the Filler, Binder, and Wrapper, and 100% handmade in Ecuador.
